LITERATE APE_LOGO.png is a digital magazine with 22 contributing writers and uses live events in lieu of advertising. “Live Lit” (live literature) is a Chicago tradition of events centering on spoken word (storytelling, books, and poetry).

Every book has a personality. Every libation has one, too. The event was held at the legendary Haymarket Pub & Brewery and featured six books paired with six drinks. The history of the cocktails, excerpts from the books, and the audience got a little sauced on the combination of words slurred and drinks stirred.
